The Purpose

Olentangy Schools are growing rapidly. This bond issue is a forward-looking, fiscally responsible plan to build the classrooms and facilities we need now to keep pace with student enrollment because overcrowding affects learning. The Bottom Line

BUILDING FOR GROWTH

Olentangy has grown by over 5,000 students in the past 10 years and is projected to grow by an additional 5,000 students in the next decade. This bond will help the district stay ahead of that growth by expanding capacity and creating room for smaller, more effective class sizes.

NO INCREASE IN THE TAX RATE

Thanks to smart financial planning, this bond issue is no-new millage. It’s a fiscally responsible way to meet urgent facility needs without increasing the property tax rate – that means residents will continue paying the same rate they do today.

SUPPORTING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE FOR ALL

This bond supports Olentangy’s mission to facilitate maximum learning for every student. From AP courses and career tech to extracurriculars and intervention support, Olentangy is committed to giving every student the resources and opportunities they need need to succeed—and this bond helps make that possible.

THE IMPACT OF WIDE-SPREAD REDISTRICTING

Without this investment, the district will face significantly overcrowded schools and growing class sizes, negatively impacting academic and extracurricular opportunities. Most importantly, this disrupts the high school student experience and weakens our community’s continued success.

THE COST OF DOING NOTHING

Delaying action doesn’t save money, it makes the problem worse. Construction costs will continue to rise, overcrowding will intensify, and families will face growing uncertainty about where their children will attend school. Acting now protects and maintains the high-quality education that residents of Olentangy expect and deserve.
