Olentangy Schools' ballot issue vote has been extended to April 28th as an all-mail primary election. The tax increase will not be collected until 2021. Olentangy's single issue has three parts – an operating levy, a permanent improvement levy and a bond issue. The money raised from the passage of this issue will allow Olentangy to continue to provide the level of academic excellence and opportunities that our community values.
Operating levy dollars pay for expenses such as personnel, utilities, and classroom supplies. It allows the district to hire and retain quality teachers and other personnel in order to meet the needs of the district’s continued enrollment growth.
OPERATING LEVY INFOThis Permanent Improvement portion of the ballot issue will generate approximately $2 million annually for upgrades and maintenance on all Olentangy facilities as well as upgrades and replacement costs for technology.
PERMANENT IMPROVEMENT INFOThe bond portion of the ballot issue will be collected at "no additional mills." Based on the projected enrollment growth, the district’s Facilities Committee has recommended building two elementary schools and one additional middle school.
BOND ISSUE INFOVoting Yes for Olentangy Schools will voice that you want Olentangy to continue ensuring academic excellence for current and future students.
A NO vote could result in a district that looks far different.
